I love escaping into the mountains! The Catskill mountain range is so stunning. I could stare out into the view endlessly. This weekend we discovered the Windham path. This path is a dreamy 1.5 mile nature trail located just off Route 23 in Windham, NY. Just to get a visual, Windham, NY is located about 140 miles or 2.5 hours north of Manhattan. This past weekend we adventured through the first phase of the eight part trail which opened in 2013. The path meanders through fields, woodlands and streams and provides fantastic views of the great northern Catskills. Simply breathtaking & can’t wait for each phase to add something new to the journey ~

We were lucky to run into one of the key creators of the path during our walk! He explained how he built many of the wooden bridges to seamlessly connect the path without disturbing wildlife. Truly any nature-lovers DREAM ~
The path is organized and funded by the non-profit organization (WARF) The Windham Area Recreation Foundation. This outstanding group of people visualize, bring to life and maintain many trails in the Windham area. You can really feel the love put in by the community as you explore around. If you are in the area, reach out to any of the board members to request more information on upcoming projects and events to benefit this amazing creation!
Things get weird when you put two city kids in the wilderness….
